Terro mobile app — Privacy Policy
This privacy policy describes how the Terro mobile application (the "App") handles information when you install and use it. It applies only to the App. The terro.cc website is covered by a separate website privacy policy.
The App is operated by Jakub Płoskonka, tax ID (NIP): 6832052401, reachable at kontakt@terro.cc.
1. Summary
- The App stores all data on your device. It does not send your data to our servers.
- The App requests location access (including in the background) to track your route during a race or training session. Location data stays on your device.
- The App can send notifications to your device. Notifications are generated locally, not from a remote server.
- The App displays maps using Google Maps SDK; Google may collect technical information as described below.
- We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs in the App.
- We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal data to third parties.
2. Data the App collects
2.1 Location data
With your permission, the App accesses your device's location — both while the App is in use ("foreground") and while it is closed or in the background. This data is used to:
- Display your current position on the in-app map.
- Record your route as a series of coordinates, stored on your device.
Location data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. It is not transmitted to Terro servers or any third party. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings, which will stop new location data from being collected. You can clear recorded routes by uninstalling the App.
2.2 Notifications
With your permission, the App can show local notifications on your device (for example, periodic coordinate updates while tracking is active). These notifications are generated by the App on your device and are not sent through a remote push service. We do not collect or store push tokens.
2.3 Device storage
The App stores recorded sessions and location coordinates in a local SQLite database on the device. Nothing is uploaded. This data remains on the device until you uninstall the App or clear its storage in your device settings.
2.4 Crash and diagnostic data
We do not bundle a crash reporting or analytics SDK in the App. Apple and Google may collect anonymized crash and performance data from your device under their own privacy policies if you have opted in at the operating system level.
3. Third-party services
3.1 Google Maps Platform
The App displays maps using the Google Maps SDK. When map tiles load, Google may receive technical information such as your device's IP address, approximate location derived from that IP, and the map area being viewed. This processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service.
4. Data we do not collect
- We do not require account registration to use the App's current features.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts from within the App.
- We do not use advertising identifiers, advertising SDKs, or behavioral tracking.
- We do not use third-party analytics in the App.
- We do not access your photos, microphone, camera, or contact list.
5. Permissions the App requests
- Location (while in use) — to display your position and record your route while the App is open.
- Location (background / always) — to continue recording your route when the App is in the background or your device's screen is off, which is necessary during a race or training session.
- Notifications — to display local notifications, for example periodic tracking updates.
- Foreground service (Android) — to keep route recording running reliably on Android while the App is in the background.
Each permission is optional. You can grant or revoke it at any time through your device's system settings. Revoking a permission may disable the corresponding feature.
6. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
7. Your rights under GDPR
Because the App stores data only on your device and does not transmit personal data to Terro, we generally do not act as a data controller of personal data collected through the App. To the extent we do process any personal data (for example, if you contact us via email), you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, or transfer that data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. 8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves (for example, when we add accounts, cloud sync, or new integrations). Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. The App's listing on the App Store and Google Play will link to the most recent version.
